The World Inequality Lab’s Global Justice Report (launched today) argues that averting climate catastrophe and achieving global prosperity requires three simultaneous shifts: rapid decarbonization, a “sufficiency” turn (less work, less consumption, dietary and land-use changes), and a drastic reduction in inequality. By 2100, it targets €5,000/month average incomes in every country, warming capped at 1.8°C, and the bottom half’s wealth share rising from 2% to 30% — financed by a new Global Justice Fund drawing on wealth and income taxes on the ultra-rich.
